Hi, I’m Tom Seest
I don’t recall when I encountered my first car, or why I found it fascinating, but I’m sure it was in the early days of my youth. I grew up on the plains of Illinois in the land of Lincoln in a community of farmers and farms. In the schools that I attended, the kids were divided into solid tribes that swore that Chevy, Dodge, or Ford was the best, and Toyotas and VW’s were honorable mentions.
I remember spending the summer of 1983 on my uncle’s farm in Minnesota, where I helped raise a mixture of about a couple hundred chickens, ducks, rabbits, and geese. I’m not sure who helped who, but I learned a lot about and from the birds and bunnies that summer. I also drove my first tractor that summer which was a John Deere, as I recall.
Now, I live on the top of a small mountain in Tennessee, where we have had domestic chickens for a bit. They run around our property and the property of our neighbors most of the day and then find their way home at night. We don’t have any tractors but I find them fascinating to this day.
In any case, I hope you enjoy my public collection of online classic car news, research, and investigation.
